THESSALY. Larissa. Early-mid 4th century BC. Drachm (Silver, 18 mm, 6.00 g, 9 h). Head of the nymph Larissa facing slightly to left, with grain ears in her hair, wearing pendant earring and necklace. Rev. ΛΑΡΙΣ-ΑΙΩΝ In foreground, mare standing to right; next to it, in background, foal standing to right. BCD Thessaly II 296 var. (arrangement of legend). L-S series 6, type A, dies O6/R1. Fine silver. Beautifully engraved dies, of the finest classical style. Uncleaned deposits, otherwise, good very fine.
