PHOENICIA. Tyre. Circa 425-394 BC. Shekel (Silver, 26 mm, 14.01 g, 2 h). Melqarth, riding on a hippocamp to right, holding bow and arrows with his left hand and the reins with his right; below, dolphin swimming to right under waves; around, corded border. Rev. Owl standing to right, before crook and flail. Cf. E&E-T Group II.1.1.1.a, 302 (but dies apparently unpublished: obverse close to O30-O36 and reverse to R31 ff.). Struck slightly off centered, light pitting on reverse, otherwise, very fine.
