Byzantine lead seal of Andreas cubicularius
(6th cent.).
Obverse: A man with long hair (seemingly the owner of the seal) riding on a horse to right, holding an object in his right hand, wreath border.
Reverse: Cruciform monogram in Greek inscribed in the corners by latin letters, the whole inscription, ΑΝΔΡΕΟΥ cubiculariu (of Andreas cubicularius), border.
An interesting historically early seal with the rare depiction of a horseman!
