George III (1760-1820), Pattern Third Guinea Struck in Copper, 1800, first laureate head right, reverse crown and date. (Spink --, Murdoch --, Montagu -- ). Other pattern guineas and half guineas struck in copper are known in George III's reign, however no 1800 third guinea has been recorded that we know of. Most probably unique and excessively rare. Superb as struck.
