Early Anglo‐Saxon Period, Sceatta, Primary series BI, diademed head right inside serpent circle. Rev,
bird above cross, annulets either side, within serpent linear circle, 1.13g (S.777; N.126). Toned with amber
gold mint brilliance both sides, reverse some metal fissures from initial strike. Extremely fine, much as struck. A
textbook example, on good metal.
