Ex. property of a Stockport Pawnbroker acquired shortly after Second World War and thence through descent.
The service took place at St. Giles, Edinburgh, accompanied by an Anglican service, this intended as a warning
to the Presbyterians of the future Charles imagined for Scotland. Much of the fi nery, gold, silver and jewellery
that accompanied the king was lost when the ship carrying it, the Blessing of Burntisland, capsized and sank in
the Firth of Forth.
