AYT K AY ANT NINOC EYC, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Marcus Aurelius right / ΦΛ ΝЄΑ ΠΟΛЄ ΥΡ ΠΑΛ, Nike standing left holding wreath and palm. Sofaer 43; RPC IV.3, 3795 (temporary) corr. (Commodus); SNG ANS 980 (Commodus). aVF, rough, red highlights. Very Rare.

Only four specimens known to RPC.Of the four specimens known to RPC, two were tentatively attributed to Marcus Aurelius, only the ANS attributing it to Commodus. But the Sofaer specimen has clear obverse legends, certainly once the RPC staff has a chance to examine the Sofaer coin they will change the attribution to Marcus Aurelius.
