Great Britain - Angel n.d. (1483-1485), Gold, RICHARD III 1483–1485 London mint. Mm. boar's head over sun-and-rose / boar's head. St. Michael slaying dragon. Rev. ship with arms, mast between R and rose.S. 2151; N. 1676; Fr. 145 (39).Underneath the R of RICHARD there appear to be traces of an original E, which would point to an older obverse die of Edward IV or V that has been altered. If this is the case, then the obverse mint mark is likely to have been struck over an underlying sun-and-rose.
