THRACE, Mesambria. Circa 275/50-225 BC. AR Tetradrachm (28mm, 16.84 g, 1h). In the name and types of Alexander III of Macedon. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; helmet in outer left field, monogram in exergue. Karayotov 3 (O2/R3); Price 985 corr. (monogram); HGC 3, 1567 (same dies as illustration). Lightly toned, a hint of die rust on obverse, slight die shift on reverse. Good VF.
