Anglo-Saxon England, Primary Series (680-710), Sceat, 'Vernus' Group, type 91, derived from Plumed Bird variety, braided hair left, sharp nose below cross pattée, row of pellets above, rev. beaded votive standard, central pellet-in-annulet, bars and pellets, 1.04g (SL 6-27, plate coin; SCBI 69, 131 this coin; cf. T&S pp. 142, Fig A), on an irregular flan, waterworn, with trace porosity and dull toning, otherwise almost very fine, extremely rare.
