Anglo-Saxon England, Secondary Series (710-760), Sceat, Series G, type 3a, unusually large diademed and draped bust right, with radiating hair, almond-shaped eye, crescent ear, long curved cross pommée before, rev. diamond standard, central pellet-in-annulet, cross pommée above and to sides, trefoil below, pellets between, 1.02g, 270° (SL 21-20; SCBI 69, 314 this coin; Spink 800), some scuffing on cheek and deposits in recesses, a finely incised and rather charming portrait, almost extremely fine.
