Anglo-Saxon England, Secondary Series (710-760), Sceat, Series U, type 23b/d, Unofficial [?], female figure looking right, wearing cynehelm and pleated smock, standing in crescent boat, small hands holding long cross pommée either side, rev. disjointed, long-necked bird (swan ?), striding right, in foliage, pellet outline to neck, pecking berries (or serpent attacking from below), upward curled wing, 1.12g, 0° (SL 45-40; SCBI 69, 792 this coin; MEC 8 Series Ub; North 83; Spink 816), of bright silver with surface porosity, otherwise very fine / a bolder very fine, scarce.
