Cape Verde Banco Nacional Ultramarino 20 Escudos 1.1.1921 Pick 29 PMG Choice Fine 15 Net. Portuguese Colonial banknotes are finally increasing in popularity, as they are a fun field chock full of rarities. This large format note was originally prepared for Portuguese Guinea, but as currency needs became pressing in Cape Verde, the notes were sent there and overprinted. This is only the third example offered in a traceable auction in the last decade. We have not sold this type in the past which makes this an important opportunity to acquire a seriously rare colonial type.
