Cuba Banco Nacional de Cuba 5 Pesos ND (1905) Pick 67 PMG About Uncirculated 55. The desirable and famous 1905 series from the National Bank of Cuba is missing from many collections, as only a few examples of each denomination are extant. Although the name would suggest that this is a government institution, it was actually a private bank. The 1905 set of banknotes was prepared and printed, apparently without government approval. Once notes were issued, the news reached government officials who hastily began withdrawing the few examples that left a small branch somewhere in Cuba. This example features only brief circulation and was thankfully saved for posterity.
