Germany Federal Republic U.S. Army Command 100 Deutsche Mark 1948 Pick 8a PMG Choice About Unc 58 EPQ. In 1948, American, British, and French authorities created the Bank of the German States to control currency operations during the rebuilding of Germany. The first issue of notes, printed by Forbes and Tudor Press, was of poor quality, and was quickly subsidized and then replaced by notes printed by the American Bank Note Company. This 100 Deutsche Mark is the highest denomination of the series and is quite rare in the best of grades. In fact, this note is tied with one other atop the PMG Population Report.
