Iraq Government of Iraq 1/2 Dinar 1.7.1931 Pick 2a PMG Choice Fine 15 Net. The first series of Iraqi Government notes, featuring the portrait of King Faisal I, are very rare and seldom seen today. Although dated 1931, these notes were not issued until spring of 1932. A new date and signature variety arrived in the fall/winter of 1932. Additionally, King Faisal I died of a heart attack in September of 1933, which prompted change to the banknotes. This 1/2 Dinar is the second denomination in the first series. Only a few examples have been auctioned in the past decade. Repairs and reconstruction are mentioned on the back of the third party holder, but the overall presentation is still good for the type.
