M. Volteius M.f. AR Denarius, 78 BC. Obv. Draped bust of Attis or young Corybas right, wearing laureate helmet; behind, pentagram. Rev. Cybele seated in chariot right, drawn by two lions; in exergue, M. VOLTEI. M. F. Cr. 385/4; B. 4. AR. 3.88 g. 17.50 mm. Scarce. A superb example. Lovely iridescent old cabinet tone. Reverse slightly off centre, with minor uncleaned dark deposits, otherwise EF.
