CUBA. Inauguration of the Havana Water Works Oval Gilt Bronze Medal, 1858. NGC MS-62.
Vives-409; Dimensions: 54mm x 63mm. Fountain of Neptune (in Havana) standing on shell throne of sea chariot above quadriga and crowned arms; Reverse: Legend in 22 lines within inner circle. A fairly SCARCE type, especially when encountered as alluring and problem-free as is the case here. The obverse yields incredibly intricate artistry, with the gilt nature offering a delightful two-toned appearance.
From the Tim Gabriele Collection.
Estimate: $200 - $400
