ECUADOR. 2 Sucres, 1973. PCGS MS-66.
KM-82. A controversial and RARE retracted issue that was possibly minted for Ecuador by VGM Metals in Germany or the Royal Mint in London. Two million were struck, though the coin type was not approved and nearly all were melted. Very few survive today, with some sources estimating the number extant to be under 100 pieces. An exquisite Premium Gem with brilliant, mirrored surfaces that is tied for second finest in the PCGS population report with just four finer.
Estimate: $370 - $550
