MEXICO. Charles IV Silver Proclamation 8 Reales, 1789. Mexico City Mint. PCGS AU-58.
KM-Q28; Grove-C-9. Diameter: 38mm. Obverse: Crowned coat-of-arms between crowned and garlanded Pillars of Hercules; Reverse: Legend, date, and "denomination" in five lines within wreath. Very enchantingly toned and hardly handled, this proclamation medal could be considered a de facto coin on account of the mentioning of "8 R." Quite SCARCE this attractive.
Estimate: $400 - $600
