PHILIPPINES. Philippines - Bolivia. 8 Reales, ND (ca. 1834-37). Manila Mint. Isabel II. NGC VF-20 .
KM-100; Basso-43; Gil-Crown variety 5-3-1-I (1834). Type VI countermark, crowned Y.II. within circular indent. Issued by decree of 20 December 1834, suppressed 31 March 1837 (By Decree of February 1, 1836). On a 1827-PTS JM Bolivia 8 Soles. Rich violet gray surfaces show some lightness across the design elements on this honestly circulated countermark. Though the bottom is not fully impressed, the countermarks' crown is clearly visible and attributable. A fine piece that will be greatly appreciated by its next owner.
