PHILIPPINES. Duo of Manila Bay Treasure (2 Pieces), 1936. Grade: VF Details, Sea Salt Damaged.
A interesting pair of sea salvaged pieces. Both commemorative issues, a Peso and 50 Centavos from 1936, are in a wonderful state of preservation given what they have likely gone through. The 50 Centavos is starting to develop a nice toning pattern near the peripheries while the Peso has surfaces with a hint of champagne tone. With a relative low mintage of 10,000 for the Peso and 20,000 for the 50 Centavos, and most of the recovered Pesos being a standard strike, these issues are truly SCARCE and should entice spirted bidding.
