Lagerqvist-5. Diameter: 65mm; Weight: 132.78 gms. By G. Vigeland. Obverse: + ALFR NOBEL NAT MDCCCXXXIII OB MDCCCXCVI, bust left, wearing frock coat; Reverse: PRO PACE ET FRATERNITATE GENTIUM (for peace and brotherhood among mankind), three nude males embracing one another. Edge: Plain. An EXTREMELY RARE offering in silver, this medal features the design utilized for the Nobel Peace Prize, normally awarded in gold. As such, this likely represents one of just a few specimens issued as concept pieces in silver. A few very light abrasions, but incredibly moving and powerful, with great brilliance and a deeper nature to the tone allowing for a highlight of the devices.
