Obverse: ALUMNORUM SEM: ECCL: S CAROLI BORR PHILAD: (graduate of the church of St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, Philadelphia), DOCTRINÆ ET PIETATI (for learning and piety) within oak wreath; Reverse: ESTO FIDELIS USQ AD MORTEM ET DABO TIBI CORONAM VITÆ (be faithful unto death and I shall give to thee the crown of life), PALMAM QUI MERUIT FERAT (let he who hath deserved it bear the palm) within palm and olive wreath. Edge: Plain. Exceptionally lustrous, with a light golden tone and a darker cobalt and magenta nature scattered throughout.
