UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Sweden - United States. Panama-Pacific International Exposition Bronze Souvenir Medal, 1915. CHOICE UNCIRCULATED.
Diameter: 51mm; Weight: 57.48 gms. By C. O. Borg & G. Larson. Presented at the expo by the Swedish Pavilion. Obverse: ARBETET ADLAR (work is uplifting), Victory standing facing, holding laurel branch; to left, male figure seated right, resting elbow upon American shield; to right, female figure seated left, resting elbow upon Swedish shield; Reverse: - PANAMA PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL EXPOSITION - / SAN FRANCISCO 1915, view of the grounds. Edge: Plain. Orange-bronze surfaces, with some darker highlights; lacquered, as is seemingly the mode of manufacture for the type.

The expo was styled as a celebration of the completion of the Panama Canal (its first use was just six months before the opening of the expo), but in a wider sense, the fair gave the world a chance to see the recovery of host city San Francisco following the devastation of the 1906 earthquake.

Estimate: $40 - $60
