Barac-6. Diameter: 57mm; Weight: 95.47 gms. Obverse: MWERA DISTRICT around Arabic script; four rosettes above; Reverse: ZANZIBAR GOVERNMENT around Arabic script. Edge: A few light marks and stains, otherwise plain. Holed at the top as issued, medals such as these were presented to "sheas," or local chieftains who acted as a liaison between the locals and the District Commissioner. A VERY RARE and unusual item that is seldom encountered.
