Johann II's dance music and operettas number over 500, garnering him the nickname of "The Waltz King," and include works such as An der schönen blauen Donau (The Blue Danube), Kaiser-Walzer (the Emperor Waltz), Die Fledermaus (The Bat), and Der Zigeunerbaron (The Gypsy Baron).
