PTOLEMAIC KINGS OF EGYPT. Ptolemy I Soter, 305-282 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 15.61 g, 1 h), first reduced standard. Alexandria, circa 306-300. Diademed head of Alexander the Great to right, with horn of Zeus Ammon over his ear, wearing elephant's skin headdress and aegis around his neck; in aegis, small Δ. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Athena Alkidemos advancing to right, brandishing spear with her right hand and holding shield on her left arm; in field to right, monogram above eagle standing right with closed wings. CPE 57. Svoronos 110. Nicely toned. Old scuff on the obverse and with two graffiti on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
