KINGS OF MACEDON. Amyntas III, 393-370/69 BC. Stater (Silver, 23 mm, 9.59 g, 12 h), Aigai. Bearded head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AMY-NTA Horse standing right; on horse's hind flank, kerykeion; all within linear square within incuse square. SNG ANS 91 var. (no kerykeion). SNG Alpha Bank 195-6 var. (same). SNG Copenhagen 512 var. (same). Westermark pl. LXX, 32. A very rare variety. Beautifully toned and with a lovely reverse. A few light scratches and the obverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, good very fine.
