SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Seleukos I Nikator, 312-281 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 17.20 g, 10 h), in the name and types of Alexander the Great. Babylon II, circa 311-after 305. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΒAΣIΛEΩΣ - AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, large vertical Seleukid anchor and monogram; below throne, Π. Price 3347. SC 94.3. Light marks and with some horn silver on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
