Rhine Legions. Anonymous, circa May/June-December 68. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.38 g, 4 h), uncertain mint in Gaul or in the Rhine Valley. 'S P Q R Group'. SALVS GEN[ERI]S HVMANI Victory standing right on globe, holding wreath in her right hand and palm frond in her left. Rev. S P Q R within oak wreath decorated with three medallions. BMC 31. CG 101.10 (this coin). Cohen 421. Martin 78. Nicolas 71. RIC 73b. A very rare variety. Darkly toned. Somewhat porous and with some flan faults and flaking on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
