MACEDONIAN KINGDOM. Philip II (359-336 BC). AR tetradrachm (24mm, 14.18 gm, 3h). NGC Choice AU 5/5 - 4/5. Posthumous issue of Amphipolis III, ca. 323-315 BC. Laureate head of Zeus right / ΦΙΛΙΠ-ΠΟΥ, nude youth on horseback right, palm in right hand, reins in left; diademed causia left below horse, Λ below raised foreleg. Le Rider -, cf. pl. 44, 29-33 (different letters below foreleg). Solidly struck on bright flan. Lovely golden hues around the devices.
