Zog I gold "Royal Wedding" 100 Franga Ari 1938-R MS63 NGC, Rome mint, KM23, Fr-13, Mont-11 (R). Mintage: 500. Struck for the marriage of King Zog to Countess Geraldine Apponyi on April 27, 1938. A piece minted to nearly Specimen-like specifications, its fields strongly mirrored and retaining a great deal of reflectivity even from a distance. Even the devices seem quite sharp, firmly establishing the coin's Choice Mint State status. Ranking a full grade point above the Paramount example (which brought $5280 in June), and wholly covetable.
