João V gold 1000 Reis 1727-M Details Clipped NGC, Minas Gerais mint, KM113, LMB-235. 2.22gm. A fleeting and rare issue that draws significant bidder interest when occasionally located at auction. General light wear reveals some degree of circulation, though the surfaces remain pleasingly bright, lightly toned in orange-gold, and reveal hints of residual luster. Though designated as "clipped" by NGC, we find no evidence of clipping, and rather, the edge reeding appears to be intact around the circumference of the coin.
