Charles III gold 8 Escudos 1787 P-SF AU58 NGC, Popayan mint, KM50.2a, Fr-36, Cal-2056. An appreciable issue featuring a curious but bold re-cut "8" in the date, illuminated at the subtle turn of the wrist as traces of mint bloom shimmer in the peripheries. While the reverse faces up much finer than the assigned grade would indicate, the obverse motifs display mere hints of friction and rub, precluding the piece at hand from Mint State status.
