Charles VI gold Ecu d'Or a la couronne ND (1380-1422) MS62 NGC, Paris mint, Fr-291, Dup-369. 1st emission (from 11 March 1385). +KAROLVS: DЄI: GRACIA: FRAnCORVM: RЄX (double saltire stops), crowned arms of France / + XPC' ★ VIИCIT ★ XPC' ★ RЄGHAT ★ XPC ★ IHPЄRAT, cross fleurée, a star in the center; all within a quadrilobe with lis at points and crowns in spandrels. An essentially choice specimen, boasting essentially fully struck details and a very pervasive luster. We note that while there is a small pellet between the legs of the N in VINCIT, it seems unusual that this would be a mintmark (for Tours), as the point is relatively inconspicuous, and there is no corresponding mark on the obverse.
