James I gold Double Crown ND (1605-1606) MS61 NGC, Tower mint, Coronet mm, Fourth bust, KM39, S-2622. 29mm. 5.06gm. A scarce Mint State survivor of the type, centrally struck upon a glistening, lustrous planchet. The central details are admirably sharp, while a small planchet flaw near 8 o'clock and an even dispersion of friction serve as the only grade-limiting factors. Currently the sole example certified by NGC, and a fleeting opportunity thus.
