George II "Lima" Shilling 1745 MS64 NGC, KM583.2, S-3703, ESC-1724 (prev. 1205). Rarely do we encounter these Lima Shillings with such fantastic eye appeal, the obverse distinguished by the presence of a vivid and fully enveloping iridescence, while the reverse remains primarily magenta and cobalt. Obscured by this array of coloration is an equally as impressive strike, lending each detail fully rendered, leaving a clear impression of the sitter and reverse design. Currently tied for the finest submitted to either grading service and surely worthy of the bids from a quality-minded collector.
