El Salvador, 4 reales, R-in-beaded-circle countermark (Type IV, 1862) on a Guatemala 4 reales 1861 R, rare, NGC VF 30, c/s XF standard. KM-96. 12.07 grams. Full countermark on a lightly worn host with contrasting toning in crevices, a few minor marks only, one of three at the VF level at NGC that are technically tied for second finest behind a single AU 55, the example additionally desirable for the fact that the countermark was placed upright relative to Carrera's bust.
