German copperplate engraving of the arrival of the Prince of Orange in London (armies) by Matthaus Merian, 1730 (Frankfurt), hand-colored. 14-1/2" x 12" A companion piece to the previous lot, this colored engraving shows William's armies entering London toward the end of the Glorious Revolution. Shortly thereafter, King James II fled to France and William III was crowned King of England. Detailed engraving with bold colors and good paper quality with light edge toning and the central fold reinforced on the back with paper from another engraving.
