Popayan, Colombia, gold bust 1 escudo, Charles III, 1780 SF, 8/9 in date (unique). Restrepo-unl (cf. 54.18); Cal-unl (cf 1423); KM-unl (48.2 for type). 3.34 grams. Problem-free AXF with traces of luster, off-center reverse, minor edge-flaw (natural, not a bump), but most important is the date with clear 7/7 and 8/9, unlisted and the first we have seen or heard of.
