Medellin, Colombia (struck in Paris), silver specimen pattern (essai) for gold 2-1/2 pesos, 1923, reeded edge, rare, PCGS SP 63, finest and only example in PCGS census. Restrepo-136 (p. 256). A silver pattern for the standard issue in gold (Restrepo-452) but with ESSAI stamped into the obverse below the chin, boldly struck with decent luster mostly coated with dark toning on reverse and around the letters on obverse. Pedigreed to the Eldorado collection (Stacks Bowers auction of August 2018, with original lot-tag 42284).
