Hostilian as Augustus. Antoninianus; Hostilian as Augustus; 251 AD, Antioch, Antoninianus, 3.33g. Obv. legend var. of RIC-207b (R); cf. C-64 (Rollin, three dots below bust, 10 Fr.). Obv: OVAL OSTIL MES COVINTVS AV[G] (sic) Bust radiate, draped r., seen from front; probably IV below bust (obscured by die break). Rx: VBERITAS AVG Uberitas standing l. holding purse and cornucopia. Hostilian\'s obverse legend should begin C OVAL, but on this coin the C has been left out, probably by engraver\'s error. Ex Coin Galleries, Numismatic Review IX, 3, September 1968, no. C-124.. EF
