Mariniana, Diva. Antoninianus; Mariniana, Diva; Viminacium, c. 254-8 AD, Antoninianus, 3.95g. Eauze Hoard-1427 (19 spec.), RIC-3, C-2 (8 Fr.), Göbl-212b (61 spec.). Obv: DIVAE MARINIANAE Veiled, draped bust r. on crescent, wearing stephane. Rx: CONSECRATIO Peacock in splendor standing front, head l. (?). The antoniniani that add a stephane to Mariniana\'s portrait seem to belong to the mint of "Viminacium" not Rome: see D. Shaad, Le trésor d\'Eauze, p. 295. Whether the peacock looks left or right on our specimen is obscured by corrosion; both varieties occur.. VF
