Vabalathus wears both a diadem and a laurel wreath. This fact has been overlooked in most of the current handbooks, although it was pointed out in 1870 by A. von Sallet in his book "Die Daten der Alexandrinischen Kaisermünzen", p. 87, note 192.Exceptionally sharp for issue.
