Philip I. AE 26; Philip I; 244-249 AD, Antiochia, Pisidia, 244 AD, AE 26, 10.59g. Krzyzanowska-obv. I, pl. XLII, rev. 12, pl. XL, a combination known to her in only two specimens. Obv: IMP M IVL PHILIPPVS P F AVG P M Bust laureate, draped, cuirassed r. Rx: CAES A - NTIOCH C - OL around, S - R in field, Three standards: a vexillum topped by an eagle standing r., head l., between two ordinary standards each topped by a smaller standing eagle looking inwards. One of only three obverse dies of Philip I at Antioch, one of which Krzyzanowska erroneously attributed to Philip II, that calls the emperor P(arthicus) M(aximus) for his doubtful victory over the Parthians at the beginning of his reign, a title that he soon dropped..
