Atoms for Peace gold medal awarded to Niels Bohr in 1957, 79 mm, 346 g, 0.750, Au. The edge has been engraved with the full name of the recipient: "NIELS HENRIK DAVID BOHR. 1957" and bears the mark of the maker (Medallic Art co. N.Y) as well as the fineness (18 K) - In original blue morocco presentation box lined with lining of silk and velvet, lid with gilt decorations and brass clasp. Accompanying the medal is the official booklet from the presentation which took place at the National Academy of Sciences in Washington D. C. on October 24th.
Both the medal and the box are in immaculate condition. - Of immense historical importance and the utmost rarity.
