From a private English collection; Ex Augustus Brown (Ken Elks), Fixed Price List 2171, February 1971 (sold as part of a group of 8); Originally catalogued by Ken Elks as being from the "Newmarket Hoard" however now believed to be Ex Freckenham Hoard, 1948 (a hoard of 525 late Roman bronze coins of Constans, Constantius II, Magnentius, Decentius and Constantius Gallus, some of which were barbarous examples - cf. H. Mattingly, 'The Freckenham Hoard of Roman Coins' in NC Vol. 13, No. 43 (1953) pp. 69-73).
