BAKTRIA, Pre-Seleukid Era. Sophytes, circa 305-294 BC. Drachm (Silver, 16 mm, 3.54 g, 6 h), uncertain mint in the Oxus Region. Male head to right, wearing a crested Attic helmet decorated with a laurel wreath on the bowl and a wing on the cheek guard. Rev. ΣΩΦΥΤΟΥ Rooster standing to right; in field to left, kerykeion. Cf. Some slight traces of corrosion and with the obverse struck slightly off-center, otherwise, extremely fine.
