SASANIAN KINGS. Ardashir I, 223/4-240. Drachm (Silver, 26 mm, 4.10 g, 3 h), Mint B ("Hamadan"), circa 233/4-238/9. Bust of Ardashir I to right, wearing diadem (type R) and with his hair bound in a spherical knot on the top of his head. Rev. Fire altar (flames 2) with diadems (type R). SNS Type VII(4a)/3b(2b) (pl. 16, 234). Cf. Sunrise 710. Well-centered with broad borders. Rare. Good very fine.
